Each of these images was created using other images in different media. I started with printed photographs then drew on them with crayon, tracing certain elements of the picture, then used heat to transfer the wax to paper. Then I would go back to the now-waxy photo and paint on it with gouache, sometimes emphasizing the same parts of the image, sometimes highlighting new shapes and stories. While the paint was still wet, I transferred it to paper. Each resulting piece is a distorted mirror image. A roughtranslation.
